N Chandrababu Naidu Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation Scheme A Transformative Impact

In recent local news, the transformative impact of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) under the leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu is vividly exemplified by the success of the Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation Scheme (PPLIS). This ambitious TDP project has not only stabilised a vast ayacut of 67,614 acres in upland manuals but has also resolved critical issues related to water supply, impacting six assembly constituencies, namely Rajahmundry (R), Prathipadu, Rajanagaram, Pithapuram, Tuni and Jaggampeta.

One of the crowning achievements of the PPLIS is the stabilisation of a total ayacut of 67,614 acres in upland manuals. This milestone underscores the TDP's contribution to agricultural development, providing a lifeline for farmers in the region. N Chandrababu Naidu's strategic vision has played a pivotal role in steering this irrigation project towards success, contributing to the socio-economic upliftment of the local community. The Yeleru reservoir, a key component of the PPLIS, has reached its full reservoir level (FRL) of 24 TMC (thousand million cubic feet). This not only ensures a reliable water supply for irrigation but also addresses the industrial water needs of Vizag, marking a significant step towards sustainable development and economic growth in the region. The PPLIS has successfully resolved the industrial water needs of Vizag and the irrigation and drinking water requirements of upland manuals, benefiting a total of 18 constituencies. This multifaceted approach to water management reflects the TDP leader's holistic strategy for addressing the diverse needs of both urban and rural communities. In a strategic move to support agriculture, the TDP, under N Chandrababu Naidu's leadership, has increased crop loans to tenant farmers through various channels such as LEC (Large Entrepreneur Category), COC (Cluster of Concern), and JLG (Joint Liability Group).
